A “Dirty Gospel”

We as followers of Christ should not only share the Gospel but also show it through truth love and demonstrative grace no matter what stage we meet or see others at in their lives. It should be noted that God does not require perfection, nor any man-made qualifiers before receiving salvation. Remember, a diamond, like the original man, was found and made from the dirt! Dirt is dark, unappealing, dry and yet so necessary for growth. Further, the more checkered or distasteful your past the more God wants you for himself. Now I know what you may be thinking. Why is it that God, who is so Holy and Great, is interested in the quality of my life? Well, just realize that God sees your potential. He cares about you greatly and would love nothing more than to dust you off and present you as a great shining object of his love and affection. For this reason, I believe “hidden or untapped” potential is like a diamond in the “Dirt”. It takes time to excavate, polish, examine and refine before its full value is realized. All it needs is someone with the vision to see past the dirt, the strength to pull the stone out, and the carefulness to surrounded it in a precious setting.Image
