Truth Minute: The Same New Same Old (Heresy in Contemporary Times)
2 Peter 2:1-2 (NKJV)
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
Just because someone has Reverend, Bishop, Pastor, or teacher does not always mean they are saved or adhere to sound doctrine. The reason for that potentially explosive commentary is because there are more heresies that can lead a Child of God into the thicket of error besides prosperity Gospel (which primarily gets attention because it relates to the idol of money). The one thing I am seeing repeatedly among Cultural and even some who are saved Christians is the separation of Jesus from the inspiration of Scripture (inclusive of civic, moral and ceremonial laws/history), and Yahweh God of the Old testament as it relates to what he has said and why he said it and its relevance (An attack on Christs Deity)…This spirit seeks to divide and compartmentalize God into different modes (modalism), or close to a polytheistic God who is separate and unequal. I believe God, His Word (through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) and Jesus are one. So lets look at the text:
John 1:1-14 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
The versus above point to the Deity of Jesus Christ or rather the truth (and I am purposely making a grammatical error to prove a point) that JESUS IS GOD WHO IS THE WORD WHO IS JESUS WHO IS GOD. So if God said something in the old testament its just as relevant as the new testament because its the same God even when God himself changed the conditions to redeem mankind from the penalty of violating what he said. There are no contradictions or revisions.
This is not to say that every recorded letter or Word is from the “mouth of God’ or From the Mouth Of Jesus or his prophets…because the Bible also gives us a glimpse into “human history” its condition and its need for a savior. However, all of it is “inspired” or “God breathed” in that is has a purpose in why it was penned and fits together like the finest knitted mosaic that spanned across 1500 years and several writers. God reveals himself through creation, His Word and His Son…its a unified front, its seamless, its ALL GOD. #JesusisGod #apologetics #Antinomianism #DeityofChrist
