Truth Minute: God is Good all the time
How you view God should not be based on the number of horrors, injustices or tragedies you see on the news. That is what I call a “bubble of prejudice”. For every evil there is an abundance of peace and love, for every murder and theft there are countless interactions and expressions for the value of life and integrity. For every unexplainable sickness there is the rapid occurrence of life…for every child that passes away in the womb there are homes filled with individuals that have passed their 80th, 90th or 100th birthday. For every person that has left the church thousands more join in another part of the world. There are families that stick together, there are people who just got a job after college, there are marriages that have kept their vows, men who are faithful and don’t cheat, women who are not materialistic and won’t take you for all of your money and there are people who give their last and don’t need a camera or facebook video to prove it…and another thing:
Everyone isn’t starving in Africa.
Everyone isn’t committing sexual harassment.
Everyone isn’t mad at Donald Trump.
Everyone isn’t unemployed.
and everyone is NOT pulling their hair out looking for Waldo :0)
My point is that just because you are not aware or pay attention to the goodness of God, the beauty of this world or the moment you took another breath this morning does not mean that God is absent. He is more than present in our affairs than you know…Be grateful not cynical. Be optimistic about the future and don’t be discouraged when hard times come as it is only temporary. To make it plain don’t be so negative or deep for a change…bad things happen…but you have to stick around for the good things too.
