(Disclaimer: It’s a long read, but hey, you are not going anywhere anytime soon)
Over the last few weeks I have shared a post or two but really haven’t shared how I felt about what God is showing me during this time…It’s taken a while but my mentor Vaughn McLaughlin as well as other seasoned men have shown me how to “fully digest the times” and not speak too quickly. To simply observe. So this is my assessment in poetic form (whatever that is).
The first thing that I see is a rise of the “Opportunist” which is a person or group of like-minded individuals that exploits circumstances to gain immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans.
There are some want to see the president get re-elected, highlight the COVID-19 recoveries and (under normal circumstances) booming economy. There are others that want to see the president be ousted and highlight the infections, deaths and the jobless claims.
There are those that want to see churches exhibit their faith, believe God and succeed, and sadly, there are those that want to show how churches are “non-essential” close down, and fail.
Some want to see the virus be eradicated, go back to work and live in freedom. But there are others, that want to see the virus spread, create anarchy and upend the constitution.
People who have jobs, that allow work from home, want everything closed (with closets full of toilet paper and supplies) while people, who don’t have those privileges, want things to be open, so they can pay bills (that won’t stop) and have some peace of mind.
Some want things to take its course and allow death to take its rightful place to balance the population.(See Malthus the real world predecessor to Thanos)…others want to be fruitful and multiply, live life to its fullest or just have a graduation.
I see an opportunity to become rich by price gouging.
An opportunity to become poor by giving up.
An opportunity for democrats to regain the White House and perhaps entertain socialism more.
An opportunity for republicans to retain control and give Pence Face-Time for 2024.
I see those that want to be brave, to be weak, to panic, to be calm, to believe God and let things unfold or be governed by fear and let depression take hold…opportunity is knocking at the door.
Jesus gave great wisdom to this human phenomena:
Luke 11:9-10
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
Meaning, that whatever you are looking for you will find it…but my prayer is that you seize the opportunity to know more of Jesus Christ and no matter what comes, be at peace in your soul.
P.S. God is still in control
